Anderson Security Agency, Ltd. was founded in 1994 by Kimberly Anderson-Matich. Despite the fact that the company is still young it has a wealth of experience in its management. Kim was introduced to the security industry at a young age and aspired to owning her own company. Following in her father’s footsteps, H.P. Anderson, Sr., she founded Anderson Security Agency, Ltd. Since being founded the company has moved several times due to growth. In 2000 the company began construction of its own facility, moving in August of 2001.

Anderson Security Agency, Ltd. was founded on one basic premise. This premise was to bring a degree of professionalism, experience, and dedication to the security industry that has long been missing. Bringing these points to the industry we hope to erase the negative image that the general public has had of the security industry for years.

To provide professionalism to its clientele Anderson Security Agency provides more training than is required by the state. This is accomplished by sending the officers through training provided by Anderson Security Academy . The Anderson Security Academy not only provides the pre-employment training but also courses in restraints, weapons, CPR, and of course our full 72-hour Academy that covers a wide range of topics. The company also has a 24-hour dispatch center to handle emergency requests, client concerns and direct officers in the field. Another aid the agency added in 1999 is one of the first privately owned mobile command units. This unit is utilized for on-site training, client-company emergencies, recruiting and community programs.

The agency’s sales in its first year totaled $1 million and have gained by about 25% per year. While growth and sales are important the agency feels that the most important way to measure a company is the professionalism provided to its clients.

Anderson Security Agency is highly active in the community through various programs. Some of these programs have included fingerprinting programs for children, safety brochures, Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, American Red Cross, and Sojourner Center for Battered Women. The agency also adopts a needy family at Thanksgiving and Christmas. In 1999 the agency founded the H.P. Anderson Citizenship Award which recognizes a five to 17-year old child for a heroic act.

In a tradition of firsts, Anderson Security Agency, Ltd houses in its corporate headquarters building the H.P. Anderson Security Museum . This museum is dedicated entirely to the history of private security and named after Kimberly Anderson-Matich's father.

In October of 2003 Anderson Security received notification that it had achieved certification as a member of the Women's Business Enterprise Council - West and the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The WBENC is the nation's leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's corporations. It is also the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States.
