Responsibilities

We are a private 122 bed psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health care and chemical dependency counseling services. Valley Hospital is centrally located with easy access to many areas of greater Phoenix.

Position Summary:

The LPN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders. The LPN accurately collects data need for the appropriate portion of the integrated assessment. The LPN must have a knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing procedures. Communicates changes in the patient's condition to the (RN) We look for nurses who demonstrate competent patient care, good communication and relationship skills; ability to set boundaries, hold confidences, establish and maintain trust; social maturity, emotional stability, self-confidence and assertiveness

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing and a valid unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing (or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state).
  • One year as a LPN in psychiatric nursing required.
  • Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
  • CPR certification upon hire
  • Successful completion of (SAMA) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment
