Teacher/Caregiver-Summer Camp Program

The City of Peoria seeks to hire Teacher/Caregivers for the Summer Camp Program in the Neighborhood and Human Services department. Peoria's Youth Programs provide childcare at 7 Summer Camp locations and Summer Recreation at 2 locations. Summer Camp is licensed by the Department of Health Services, offered at Peoria United School District Elementary campuses for students ages 5-14. This is an excellent opportunity for a childcare provider to collaborate with school personnel to develop a growing program. Our Teacher/Caregivers supervise and monitor children in their care by actively participating with them through play and staff led enrichment, such as literacy, arts and crafts, and STEAM projects. The hiring rate for this position is $16.72 per hour.

The ideal candidate for this position will be able to:

  • Implement the execution of an activity, event, or program with some direction.
  • Supervise and monitor children in their care by actively participating with them.
  • Enjoy a fast-paced schedule and the opportunity to make a difference.
  • Work the July 4th Special Event in the summer. This is required of ALL employees.
