Job Summary
This short-term dynamic position will support the nursing simulation & skills laboratory operations in a fast-paced, student-driven learning environment. The successful candidate will thrive in a culture that supports the extraordinary. Typical work days will consist of preparing and maintaining human simulation equipment for student experiences, including but not limited to the set up of supplies and high-low fidelity equipment, moulage, stocking, maintaining inventory records, basic technology troubleshooting, and assuring that safety & lab protocols are followed. The positions will collaborate with the simulation coordinator, students, staff, faculty, and vendors in the lab setting.
This position has an end date of September 2024 and may be renewed based on the funding and needs of Phoenix College.
Essential Functions
50% -Prepares and sets up instructional equipment and supplies; Liaising with Information Technology departments for assistance, as needed; Providing basic equipment, computer hardware and software troubleshooting for students and faculty; Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interactions with coworkers, supervisors, students and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction; Monitors and assures safety procedures are adhered to in the use of equipment, instructional spaces and other resources; Monitors, maintains and services equipment, facility space, supplies, computers and other resources used for instructional purposes.
20% - Maintains detailed knowledge of policies, procedures, and activities related to the job, department, and College; Assists with researching supply and equipment information and pricing from vendors; Assists faculty members with basic operational needs in support of academic laboratory instruction; Prepares and provides support instructions and materials; assists with equipment training.
20%- Operates human simulators for simulation experiences; ensures all equipment is charged; Initiates the startup sequence for medium & high fidelity manikins.
10% - Other duties as assigne
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of experience such as providing assistance to students in an instructional setting; and/or preparing, maintaining and delivering equipment, supplies or other related instructional materials used for laboratory activities in area of assignment
OR
High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of experience such as providing assistance to students in an instructional setting; and/or preparing, maintaining and delivering equipment, supplies or other related instructional materials used for laboratory activities in area of assignment
Desired Qualifications
1. Two (2) or more years of experience managing high-volume retail, education, or healthcare work environments.
2. One (1) or more years experience working in a nursing education lab or healthcare setting
3. One (1) or more years experience collaborating with diverse individuals
4. One (1) or more years of experience actively using spreadsheets, databases, or shared electronic file systems (i.e Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
5. Currently holds the Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist credential or ability to obtain within two years of hire.

Work Schedule may vary depending upon weekend needs
No overtime required- midweek hours would adjust.
May be required to lift or carry up to 50lbs
