About the Position

As a Temporary Special Election Board, you would assist in facilitating the election process by traveling and providing professional, and non-partisan services and assistance to voters who are ill, disabled, or confined to their personal residence or assisted living facility.

The Temporary Special Election Board is a temporary assignment with Maricopa County before, during, and after the election cycle.

We Require

  • This position requires a High School Diploma or GED

    Successful candidates must be registered voters or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona. You must pass an applicable background screening. You may be required to use a County or personal vehicle for your work, which would require a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, a reliable vehicle, and attendance in Maricopa County's Defensive Driving Course.

  • One or more years of moderate computer use experience

  • One or more years of election experience

  • One or more years of customer service experience

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Job Contributions

  • Paired into bipartisan board to travel throughout Maricopa County

  • Team is responsible for providing professional, non-partisan service and assistance to voters who are ill, disabled, or confined to their personal residence or assisted living facility

  • Schedule facility visits throughout Maricopa County

  • Abide by facility requirements regarding the health and safety of residents

Working Conditions

  • Full-time/temporary/overtime hours are mandatory during the election cycle

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

  • Upper extremity repetitive motion

  • Ability to review small font on hard copy or computer screen

  • Ability to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist a minimum of 25 pounds and carry for 100 feet

  • Ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds for 200 feet

  • Traveling will be required to multiple facilities or residences throughout Maricopa County utilizing personal vehicles

  • Assist other divisions of Elections or Recorders with their daily functions and activities

Selection Procedure

  • Only the most qualified candidates will be considered

  • Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
