In the key role of the Asset Management Principal you'll be leading teams of asset management and consulting professionals as they work to support electric and gas utility clients across the USA. You will thrive working directly with clients to help them understand their asset management needs, lay the framework for their asset management programs/initiatives, and then help drive the execution of those initiatives and programs. Since you're a natural leader and problem solver, you will thrive in our matrixed environment that empowers you to put our clients first, and creatively solve some of their most challenging problems.

As a principal within our management consulting practice, you will have a seat at the table to drive growth, build teams, and deliver some of our clients most complex projects. With your in-depth knowledge of electric or gas utilities, you will be a natural leader within the industry, and a point person our clients can count on to answer some of their most pressing questions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Drive project success through excellent management of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

  • Technical leadership: Experience in developing, or acting as a prime contributor to asset management related deliverables, including:

  • Asset Management Planning Framework, Policy and/or Plans

  • ISO 55000 Gap Assessment

  • Roadmap and Implementation Plans

  • Asset Investment Planning Framework

  • Condition Assessment Framework

  • Asset Risk Management Framework

  • Enterprise Risk Management Framework

  • Business Process Mapping

  • Whole Life Cost / Risk Model

  • Asset Hierarchy

  • Project Development: Work with marketing professionals to prepare proposals, including scope, schedule, and budget in line with our clients needs.

  • Client Management: Develop client relationships and provide strategic thinking, and consultation for our clients and programs.

  • Consulting: Provide up to date asset management recommendations to our utility clients in real time to provide direction on their asset management programs.

  • Team Leadership: Enjoy coaching, training, and recruiting the next generation of asset management professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years asset management experience within the electric or gas utility space.

  • Ability to multi-task, meet multiple deadlines, and lead a team.

  • Excellent organizational skills along with strong written/verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and present summary-level information.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships and deliver solutions that meet the client's expectations.

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferred.

  • Masters degree

  • Institute of Asset Management certificate preferred.

  • Familiarity with ESRI GIS, MS Access, SQL Server, and Enterprise Asset Management systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP, Cartegraph, Oracle WAM, and Azteca Cityworks)

  • Detailed knowledge of electric/gas utility management processes, leadership activities, operation and maintenance activities, and asset management best practices.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits. California pay range $132,055.00 to 197,225.00
